National Black Estheticians’ Week (NBEW) is an annual professional observance dedicated to education, visibility, and advancement within the esthetics community. Held annually during the last week of Black History Month (February 22–28), NBEW brings together licensed Estheticians, students, educators, brands, and skincare enthusiasts to spotlight excellence in practice while addressing the unique needs of skin of color.
While NBEW centers Black Estheticians and melanin-rich skin education, participation is open to all who support inclusive skincare, professional growth, and equitable representation across the beauty industry.
Why It Exists
Historically, Black Estheticians have been underrepresented in mainstream beauty education, leadership spaces, and media visibility despite their expertise and impact.
NBEW exists to change that.
The initiative elevates practitioner voices, expands access to culturally competent skincare education, and creates opportunities for connection, mentorship, and professional recognition.
History
National Black Estheticians’ Week was founded to provide a dedicated platform for professional visibility, education, and collaboration within the esthetics industry.
What began as a grassroots digital gathering has evolved into a nationally recognized week of programming, panels, community conversations, and educational initiatives, all focused on advancing practitioner leadership and skin of color excellence.
Today, NBEW operates independently as a practitioner-led initiative guided by community partnerships and its Advisory Board.
